NAVI Mumbai is set for a major change in its municipal polls as the 2025–26 elections will be held under a multi-member panel system for the first time. To familiarise voters with the new format, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has launched a city-wide awareness campaign under Chief Election Officer Dr Kailas Shinde.
Under the revised system, voters in wards 1 to 27 will elect four representatives each (A, B, C, D), while ward 28 will have three (A, B, C). To avoid confusion at polling booths, NMMC is distributing pamphlets, putting up over 300 hoardings and digital banners, and running targeted campaigns on NMMT buses and shelters. Print notices in newspapers complement the effort.
