The various beautification and developmental works being carried out by the Shiv Sena-run Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has come under criticism by the NCP which has demanded immediate dissolution of the civic body for its "misdeeds".

Addressing a press conference here today, NCP city unit President and MLC Jitendra Avhad said there were several irregularities in the multi-crore projects being implemented by the TMC. Citing an example, he said old stones were being used for the revamp of the picturesque Masunda lake in the heart of the city.
