The city saw a significant drop in both the test positivity rate (TPR) and daily cases on Thursday. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation report, 1,384 new cases and 12 deaths were reported in the past 24 hours while the TPR dipped below 4 and was recorded at 3.25 per cent.
In the third wave, the highest TPR recorded in Mumbai was 29.9 per cent on January 6. Of the 12 deceased, eight had comorbidities. One of the deceased was aged between 40 and 59 while the remaining were above 60 years. Around 84 per cent of the patients testing positive on Thursday were asymptomatic and 184 patients were hospitalised, of whom 42 were in oxygen beds.
