BMC confirms 693 new Covid-19 infections and 20 fatalities; state’s daily tally at 9,677

With 693 new Covid-19 cases, Mumbai on Friday saw a marginal drop in daily tally, but deaths doubled, as compared to the previous day. The test positivity rate also increased slightly to 2.24 per cent, from 2.20 per cent on Thursday.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday confirmed 20 Covid-19 fatalities in the city, and most of them had comorbidities. Sixteen deceased patients were co-morbid, five were in the age group of 40-59 years, and 13 were senior citizens.
