The state’s Covid-19 cases saw a significant rise as 6,686 were registered on Friday

Mumbai saw a rise in new Covid-19 cases but the test positivity rate continued to dip on Friday along with the number of fatalities. On Monday, the city had recorded the second wave’s lowest daily cases and fatalities, post which there was marginal rise for consecutive days. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), 285 new cases were registered along with 4 deaths in Mumbai.
The city’s test positivity rate saw a dip and was 0.76%. While on August 10, it recorded the second wave’s lowest TPR with 0.75%, on Thursday it was 0.77%. The doubling rate improved and was 1,853 days on Friday.
