In a bid to prevent crowding at booking counters and make the process of getting local train tickets smoother, the Railways is looking at linking the Mumbai’s Universal Pass to the Universal Ticketing System (UTS) app.
“The UTS is a national app and integrating it with Co-WIN to link the Covid-19 vaccine certificate is under process. At present, the app does not have the provision to verify vaccine certificates. However, officials are exploring if the UTS app could be integrated with the state government’s Universal Pass database for both the Western Railway and Central Railway zones. This will not only do away with the need of physical verification, but also help in restoring the app for Mumbai region,” a senior railway official said.
