The 6.5 km-long tunnel, where the accident took place, is the longest on the Konkan Railway

In a close shave for passengers on Saturday, the speeding Delhi-Goa Rajdhani Express train derailed inside the longest tunnel on the Konkan Railway after hitting a boulder. Fortunately, there were no injuries or casualties. Traffic was restored at 10.27 am the same day. However, a number of trains had to be detained along the stretch due to the accident.
The 6.5 km-long Karbude tunnel is one of the longest railway tunnels in regular passenger use on Indian Railways and the longest one on the Konkan Railway.
