According to the latest data released by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the collective water levels in the seven reservoirs supplying drinking water to the city have reached an impressive 99.23 percent, amounting to 14,47,363 million liters of water.

Among these vital water sources, Modak Sagar Lake, one of Mumbai`s primary reservoirs, began overflowing on July 27 at 10:52 PM, followed by the Tulsi Lake on July 20, both triggered by heavy rainfall in the city and its suburbs. Mumbai relies on a network of lakes, namely Tulsi, Tansa, Vihar, Bhatsa, Modak Sagar, Upper Vaitarna, and Middle Vaitarna, for its water supply.
