The Bollywood actor allegedly died by suicide at his Goregaon residence on Monday evening. According to police sources, Nahar posted a suicide narration video and wrote a note in Roman language on his Facebook account, which was later pulled down from social media. The matter had come to light when his suicide note, that was deleted, went viral. The cops rushed to the actor's home after the post reached the Mumbai Police department.
He was a resident at Vasundhara Apartment near Vibgyor school in Goregaon West. At the time of the incident, his wife was present in the apartment. Nahar allegedly locked himself in the bedroom. When he did not open the door, Kanchan suspected something wrong. She knocked the bedroom door multiple times, but when the actor failed to respond, she called the flat owner and a couple of their common friends. Later, with the help of a key maker, Kanchan opened the door and saw Nahar hanging by the ceiling, said an officer from the Goregaon police department.
According to a report in PTI, the deceased's wife told police that she along with two others recovered his body, Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishal Thakur said. "The body has been sent for postmortem and the exact cause of his death can be ascertained after that," he said.
After the victim's body was brought down, they immediately took him to SRV hospital where the doctors declared him dead before admission. The Goregaon police also added that his wife and friend took his body back home, instead of taking it to a government hospital.
