The Congress is seeking legal opinion on Kangana Ranaut's recent comments on India's independence and a party leader has already requested the police to register a complaint against her, the party's Maharashtra unit chief Nana Patole said and dubbed the actor's remarks "anti-national".
Speaking to reporters, Patole said Congress will take a firm stand against such "coordinated" attacks. Congress general secretary and chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said, "BJP's attempt to 'murder' the ideology of 'Gandhi ji' through its puppets was neither successful in the past, nor will it succeed in the future.
