Shell out Rs 18,750 for World Cup finals
1. How many World Cup cricket tickets (Semi and final) were sold on day one (Monday)?
We are yet to begin selling tickets for the semi final and final matches. We have started selling regular World Cup cricket match tickets on our portal since June 1, 2010 and have already sold tickets for many major matches. We have only a few thousand semi final tickets and 1,000 World Cup final tickets remaining, which will be sold online shortly.

2. People logging on to the website were u00a0greeted by an error message on Monday.
Yes, our system overloaded due to the overwhelming response we got within a short time, since millions of people around the world were trying to login at the same time. Given the nature of announcement of ticket sales, limited number of tickets available and the colossal demand, not just from the Indian sub continent, but the entire world, we had 10 million hits within the first 30 minutes prior to the appointed time, and this cumulatively kept on increasing throughout the course of the day. However, the site was back in action within three to four hours. We are a transaction-based site and not just a content browsing site.
