Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut will join the opposition INDIA coalition meeting in New Delhi on Wednesday evening to review the Lok Sabha election results, according to party sources. Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray had previously indicated his desire to travel to Delhi for the INDIA alliance leaders' meeting, but only Raut will now attend, according to sources, reported PTI.

According to sources, Raut has already arrived in the national capital for the meeting, the report stated.

Per the PTI report, on Tuesday, Thackeray pushed for claiming the right to form the next government at the Centre, mentioning that the opposition alliance leaders would gather in New Delhi on Wednesday to decide on the Prime Ministerial candidate.

He stated that conversations were underway with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Telegu Desam Party (TDP) leader N Chandrababu Naidu to examine the potential of forming an alliance with the opposition bloc.

The JD(U), led by Kumar, and the TDP are currently members of the BJP-dominated NDA, which is poised to form the next government in the 543-member House.

INDIA group leaders will meet at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's mansion on Wednesday evening to discuss building a government and whether to approach old allies, Nitish Kumar and Naidu, the report added.

The meeting is anticipated to be attended by opposition leaders Sharad Pawar, M K Stalin, Champai Soren, Akhilesh Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, Sitaram Yechury, and D Raja, as well as Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Abhishek Banerjee, who is travelling from Kolkata, will represent the TMC.

Despite falling short of a majority on its own, the BJP is expected to form the government with the help of its partners. The NDA has crossed the halfway mark with support from Naidu's TDP and Nitish Kumar's JD(U), as well as other alliance allies. The TDP and JD(U) have both rejected suggestions to join the opposition alliance, reaffirming their support for the NDA, PTI report stated.
