Shiv Sena candidate Rahul Shewale officially submitted his nomination papers for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 from Mumbai South Central on Monday, with the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Before filing his nomination, Shewale organised a roadshow to raise support for himself amid the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. He expressed gratitude for the occasion and committed to carrying forward the goals of Balasaheb Thackeray and Dr BR Ambedkar. Shewale emphasised that this election is a clash of ideologies between Congress and the legacy of Balasaheb Thackeray, reported ANI.

"This is the third time I am getting the opportunity to fulfil the dream of Balasaheb Thackeray. I am taking forward the vision of Balasaheb Thackeray and "Baba Saheb Ambedkar. People have twice elected me MP from here. I will contest against Anil Desai. We respect each other. This is a battle of the ideology. This is a battle between the ideology of Congress against the ideology of Balasaheb Thackeray. This is a fight between real Shiv Sena and fake Shiv Sena," Shiv Sena's Rahul Shewale said.

Shewale highlighted successes under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, including the repeal of Article 370 and the construction of the Ram Temple. He voiced optimism for the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and detailed plans for the reconstruction of numerous Mumbai neighbourhoods, including Dharavi.

"We are hopeful that UCC will be implemented. Our focus is on the redevelopment of dilapidated buildings, refugee colonies, and Punjabi colony. Dharavi is important for us but along with it, redevelopment of the other five Vidhan Sabha constituencies is important for us. In the next five years we will shift people to their new homes," Rahul Shewale said after filing his nomination for Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

Shewale will face Anil Desai, the Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate, in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Maharashtra will vote in 11 seats during the third phase on May 7, with 94 constituencies from 12 states/UTs participating.

Voting has been completed in 14 states/UTs during the first two stages, with an estimated voter turnout of 60.96 per cent in the second round. Results of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 are set to be announced on June 4.
