In light of the recent Sakinaka rape case, as well as the gang rape of a teenager in Dombivli, several human rights and civil rights groups gathered at Behrampada’s Gate Number 18 on Saturday to stage a protest against the state, and hold it accountable for the violence being perpetrated against women.

The protest “Save Women’s Lives, Save Women’s Rights” was organised by the Bharatiya Muslim Mahila Andolan (BMMA), Chiranjeevi, Bharat Bachao Andolan, Vidyarthi Bharti, Waghini, Marathi Bharati and Ganai Sanskrutik Chalwal.
