The Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) of pro-Telangana forces on Saturday called for a day-long rail blockade across Andhra Pradesh's Telangana region on July 14 to press the demand for a separate Telangana state. Government employees in the region will also be going on an indefinite strike from August 1. <br /><br />The committee announced that 'vanta varpu' or protest through cooking on roads will be held in nine districts on July 12. Previously, the JAC had proposed a two-day rail blockade on July 8 and 9 but postponed the programme to involve the Congress, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and other parties for a joint agitation. <br /><br />But when no positive response from the Congress and TDP was forthcoming, the JAC went ahead with the decision to announce the July 14 rail blockade.
