A case has been registered against a man in Maharashtra’s Thane district for allegedly transporting buffaloes in an unlawful and cruel manner, according to the police. As per PTI reports, the incident came to light when a police patrol team intercepted a truck on the night of 17 April in Kukse village, falling under the jurisdiction of the Padgha police station.
Upon inspection, officers found a total of 23 buffaloes crammed into the vehicle in extremely unsafe and unhygienic conditions. The animals, according to a police official cited by PTI, were tightly bound with ropes and denied the space needed to move freely. They were transported without even the most basic provisions for ventilation, safety or veterinary care.
