A fire broke out in an electricity transformer in Devdaya Nagar, Thane (West), on Friday afternoon, prompting a swift response from civic and emergency authorities. Officials confirmed that the blaze was fully extinguished within minutes and no injuries were reported.
According to the Disaster Management Cell of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), the incident was reported at around 12:43 pm on January 17, 2025. The information was received by the control room following a call from a local resident. The fire occurred in a transformer belonging to Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), also known as Mahavitaran, near Canara Bank, opposite Laxmi Narayan Residency in the Devdaya Nagar area.
