On Sunday, a man in Thane died after getting into an accident while his son sustained minor injuries. The tragic incident happened around 3 pm at the Cadbury junction on the Eastern Express Highway in Thane, along the route from Patlipada to Thane railway station. The incident was reported to the Disaster Management Unit.

According to the incident report, a Honda Activa was being operated by Rakesh Bangera. As the vehicle was navigating the Eastern Express Highway, a Tata Bus owned by once Valmik Markut, collided with the two-wheeler from behind. The impact of the collision resulted in the two-wheeler losing balance and a subsequent accident.
Local authorities, including city traffic police and personnel from the Rabodi police station, promptly arrived at the scene of the incident to manage the situation.
Bangera, aged 52, a resident of Hiranandani Estate, succumbed to his injuries at the accident site. His body was transported to the District Government Hospital in Thane for post-mortem examination.
His son, Vishal Bangera, aged 17, who was riding pillion sustained minor injuries to his right leg in the accident. He received immediate medical attention and was admitted to Lake City Hospital in Thane for treatment.
The Rabodi police station is currently overseeing the further investigation into the incident. As per the latest information provided by the police, both the vehicles involved in the accident, the Honda Activa and the Tata Bus, have been taken into custody by law enforcement.
In another accident on New Link Road near Mindspace in Malad West, a 21-year-old man lost his life and a 55-year-old individual sustained injuries. The accident occurred when a minor took control of a car, leading to a collision with two pedestrians and ultimately crashing into a tree. Charges have been pressed against the underage driver and his friend, who allowed him to operate the vehicle despite being aware of his age, according to an official statement.
The Bangur Nagar police station received reports of a car colliding with two pedestrians and subsequently crashing into a tree near Interface Building Number 7 at Mindspace on New Link Road in Malad West. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a Suzuki Baleno on the footpath, displaying significant damage and surrounded by bloodstains, as reported by the police.
One of the injured victims, a 21-year-old, was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital in Chincholi Bunder, while the other, a 55-year-old, received necessary medical attention at Shatabdi Hospital, as stated by an official source.
