An investigation raid by the Anti-Corruption Bureau at the Thane-based row-house of Sanjay Eknath Bawiskar, executive engineer, Water Department, Zilla Parishad, Thane, revealed a stash of Rs 19 lakh, Rs 2.5 lakh-worth gold, furniture worth Rs 23 lakh, a car and bank deposits of Rs 1 crore.

On Friday, 49-year-old Bawiskar was arrested along with junior engineer Prajwal Bhoir for demanding a bride of R3,500 from a builder to clear his application.
