Three people were killed and three injured when a truck rammed into a Tata Sumo on the Thane Bhiwandi Highway early morning today. The six people, working in the rationing department at Churchgate, were headed towards Bhiwandi when the truck hit their vehicle from behind.

The impact killed three people, including the driver on the spot. The injured were rushed to a nearby government hospital. A police officer from the Shanti Nagar police station said, "The accident took place at 4.50 am. We are still investigating the matter and will be able to provide the names of the dead and the injured later.
