A near tragedy was averted at the opening of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link on Wednesday morning when a police patrol boat carrying nine people was entangled in a fisherman's net on its round around the Bandra end of the link. The boat was heading to Ferry Wharf.
The incident took place shortly before the opening of the link at 7:00 am when the net got entangled in the motor, stopping it. The crew then lowered an anchor but because of strong currents the anchor was not able to stand ground.
