The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued rainfall warnings for several districts in Maharashtra on Thursday, signalling a shift in intensity after days of relentless downpour.
A yellow alert has been sounded for Palghar, Thane, Raigad, and Ratnagiri, where heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places. These districts were under a red alert on Wednesday following three consecutive days of intense showers. However, the rain appears to have eased slightly on Thursday.
In Sindhudurg, moderate rain is expected, while Mumbai is also likely to experience moderate showers. The IMD has maintained a yellow warning for Raigad and Ratnagiri for the entire week, suggesting the possibility of heavy rain continuing in the coming days.
