Ramashray Pandey appointed as General Manager of Western Railway

Ramashray Pandey, a senior officer of the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) of the 1990 batch, has taken over the charge as General Manager of Western Railway on Friday, 10th April, 2026. Prior to his posting as General Manager, Western Railway, Pandey was working as Chief Administrative Officer (Construction/South), East Central Railway in Patna.
During his career, Pandey has served as Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Varanasi Division on North Eastern Railway and also held the position of Chief Engineer on Northern Railway, New Delhi. He has held several important positions, including Deputy Chief Engineer at Gorakhpur and Samastipur; Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Member Engineering at the Railway Board; Director of Vigilance at the Railway Board; and Deputy Chief Vigilance Officer at Hajipur. He also served as Group General Manager at Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), where he executed several notable infrastructural projects.
