From mass housing scheme for economically weaker section (EWS) and low-income group (LIG) to the inauguration of Metro phase I and water transport—these are all set to become reality in 2022 in Navi Mumbai. mid-day reached out to Dr Sanjay Mukherjee, managing director and vice-chairman of CIDCO, about the projects.
Come January 2022 and nearly 5,000 flats—1,800 EWS and 3,200 open—would be allotted under the lottery scheme. “We are in the process of constructing 1,05,000 residential houses under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY) and projects registered with MahaRERA, with state of art facilities worth around R30,000 crore. The possession for the 5,000 flats would start from January 2022,” said Dr Mukherjee.
