Amid the gloom of the pandemic, the city witnessed a bright event on Friday wherein a newly wed couple decided to feed 150 orphans and senior citizens living in old age homes from a famous restaurant.
Santacruz resident Jheel Shah and Saurabh Navratna from Thane who currently lives in Singapore got married at a hotel in Powai. Jheel told mid-day, “We had invited around 250 people to our wedding and had made a booking with the hotel accordingly. But as my father tested positive just four days before the date, we postponed the same to January 7. However, in view of the rising number of cases, the civic body changed the guidelines and allowed only 50 guests at any event. The hotel then suggested we split the celebration over three-four days.”
