"A local resident alerted us about the fire around 9.15 am. The godown, measuring approximately 2,000 sqft was stocked with plastic material, cardboard and wooden items, all of which were completely gutted in the blaze," an official said

Police personnel along with fire brigade teams from Thane and various nodes in Navi Mumbai reached the spot and a firefighting operation was launched

The blaze was brought under control by noon and cooling operations are currently underway, officials said, adding that no one was injured in the incident
