The Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 will be held on Wednesday in a single phase. Voters will be able to cast their ballot from 7 am to 6 pm 

The cops will not be able to cast their votes on Wednesday as they will be deployed for the city`s security on polling day

Five Additional Commissioners, 20 Deputy Commissioners, 83 Assistant Commissioners of Police, and more than 2,000 officers, and over 25,000 constables will keep vigil in the city

Additionally, three units from the Riot Control Police (RCP) will be on duty to prevent any untoward incident

To manage traffic effectively, 144 officers and more than 1,000 personnel have been assigned, along with 4,000 Home Guards. Furthermore, 26 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and State Armed Police Forces (SAP) will also be deployed to ensure smooth and secure elections

Many cops also have their voting centres outside the area of their duty   

The postal ballots will be counted before the EVMs open on Saturday, the day of results

Meanwhile, polling officers set up voting booth in other classrooms of Dr Antonio D`Silva School in Dadar for Wednesday`s electoral process   

The Dadar-Mahim constituency will witness a battle between the candidates of the three Senas: Shiv Sena`s Sada Sarvankar — who is also the sitting legislator from the area, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena`s Amit Thackeray, and Mahesh Sawant from Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray)

As the poster states, voters will not be permitted to take their phones inside the polling booths. On Monday, the Bombay High Court had upheld the Election Commission of India`s decision to prohibit the use of mobile phones at voting booths in the state assembly elections

A total of 25,43,610 voters have been registered across the 10 constituencies of South Mumbai  

A total of 10,117 voting booths have been set up in Mumbai, of which 2,538 are in the island city
