The fair, this year, will begin from September 8 on the day of Nativity of Mother Mary which is also known as the birthday of Mother Mary.
Usually, the Fair commences on the first Sunday after the feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus Christ.
Stalls are being set up outside the church ahead of the renowned Fair which will begin on Sunday. Simultaneously, some policemen were seen patrolling the area.
The week-long Bandra Fair, which takes place around the church and along its steps, is expected to culminate on September 15.
The Fair will be coinciding with the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations this year which will commence on September 7 and conclude on Anant Chaturdashi 10 days later.
Meanwhile, many devotees were spotted praying at the Mount Mary Church on Sunday evening; some of them lit candles after offering prayers.
The altar has been decorated for the novena, which takes place for nine days before the feast.
During the novena, devotees offer prayers to the Virgin Mary, who is the mother of Jesus Christ, while also seeking her blessings.
