Say drivers of radio cab service who gathered outside the company office to sloganeer against alleged injustice u00a0 Easy cab drivers' protest against the management reached fever pitch on its eighth day today when 700 of them gathered outside the company's office at 2 am to shout slogans protesting the alleged injustice meted out to them. <img alt="" src="/imagedata/2010/nov/2123456789.jpg" border="5" /> Indefinite: The drivers will continue their protest until their demands are met. Pic/Bindiya Carmeline Thomas Thirty-five-odd drivers, belonging to the Karmikar Sangma union, have spent the last seven days eating, sleeping and protesting outside the Easy Cab office on MSR Main Road. Prameshwarachari, spokesperson, Karmikar Sangma, said, "They promised us they would give us cabs after we put in four years of service. We even had to pay a deposit of Rs 5,000 for that when we joined but we haven't got the cabs. The management is robbing us. We want justice." He also alleged that all the drivers have paid the company Rs 8.5 lakh from their salaries towards the cab and were forced to cough up Rs 950 a day. "The management has done nothing to help us. Neither have the government or the police. We want the Bahujan Samaj Party to intervene now." The drivers have now decided to continue their protest indefinitely and say they will not relent until their demands are met. They added, however, that they would ensure the protests are peaceful. A senior police official from Jalahalli Police Station, who was at the scene, said, "They have assembled here quietly and are not causing nuisance. We won't have to take any kind of action against them as long as the protest is peaceful." The Easy Cab management was unavailable for comment.
