All six accused arrested

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by six persons in Defence Colony area in south Delhi. The police said the victim, a resident of Andrews Gang, was kidnapped by her neighbour Rajesh who then took her to Sangam Vihar where he and his five friends raped her.

"The girl's father approached the police on April 25 with a complaint that his daughter had been kidnapped. After an FIR was registered, several teams were made to carry out the investigation. On April 27, the police managed to rescue the girl from Kotla Mubarakpur area in south Delhi," said a police official.

The victim told the police that she was taken to an isolated place in Sangam Vihar area where Rajesh and his five friends, Anil, Siddharth, Tilak, Prateek and Pinku gangraped her. Following her statement, the police conducted raids at several places and managed to arrest all the six accused.

"The main accused Rajesh is pursuing BA from Delhi University's School of Open Learning," said the police official. The accused after raping the victim brought her back to Defence Colony area and threw her in front of her house. However, the girl who was scared after the incident did not go to her home and instead went to her friend's place who lives in Kotla Mubarakpur area.

"It was her friend Rahul who consoled her and convinced her to narrate her ordeal.u00a0 After hearing about the incident, Rahul called the police," said the police official.
