Bangalore's tiny eco-warriors have organised themselves into the Green Army, an initiative to make the city greener.

Catch 'em young: Students and faculty at Sophia School who have started the Green Army

Students of Sophia School kicked off the initiative saplings on June 5 World Environment Day by planting 330 saplings. Students from other schools are joining in.

Mukthidhama, a trust working for a greener Bangalore, is helping the children by investing Rs10 on every avenue sapling.

"Children are acting for Bangalore," said B N Shivshankar, founder, Mukthidhama. "They are aware of where we are heading and are planting saplings to bring back the green."u00a0u00a0
