Venkatesh was beaten in a similar fashion three months ago, by two rowdies belonging to the same gang.
Venkatesh was headed home when the gang pounced on him.
The attack left him with a number of injuries to his chest, foot, and his face. "They were drunk, and I fainted on the street after they attacked me," said Venkatesh.
He was taken to the Bowring Hospital by his uncle and elder brother Manjunath G, where this reporter spoke to him.
Two of his attackers have been identified as Narayan Swami and Subha, who are auto drivers by profession, and are on the C V Raman Nagar police station's rowdy list.
u00a0"He was attacked the first time because he advised the two boys not to drink and get in trouble since they are so young," said Manjunath who owns a tailoring shop in the same area.
