Special commando trained units comprising 134 Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel will now provide security to the twou00a0 campuses of Infosys Technologies located in the Rajiv Gandhi Information Technology Park at Hinjewadi. And for this the company will be spending Rs 1.4 lakh daily. The CISF which protects public sector undertakings will now render quick armed reaction to any threat to Infosys.u00a0 The software giant's facility in the city is third campus to be brought under CISF cover after the Bangalore and Mysore premises. The CISF was mandated to protect the private sector with an amendment in the CISF Act in the aftermath of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks in 2008. The security set-up includes a special commando-trained unit comprising 134 CISF personnel led by an Assistant Commandant rank officer to thwart any possible terror attack or sabotage. The CISF Security Command Centre along with seven QRTs and one Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) will keep watch on the campus round-the-clock through CCTV cameras installed at strategic locations on the premises. A dog squad will be also be deployed. Inspector General (Western sector CISF) P Phalnikar said: "The CISF security team will perform anti-sabotage duties only. Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) mounted on vehicles and armed with sophisticated weapons will keep a tight vigil on the campus. There are intelligence inputs regarding threat to industrial units and about presence of sleeper cells of terror organisations. Hence, the need for a specialised force."
