Verdict: The strength of its one main selling point is diminished by the thought of the bills that will, no doubt, follow. Buy this if you're not a regular at DVD rental stores.

What's Good: Compatible with most audio/video standards and media formats, the low 12W power consumption is just one reason to opt for this DVD player. With a High Definition Multimedia Interface of 1080p, you can enjoy your movies in high-definition resolution.
The additional Karaoke feature makes this one a winner. The advanced programme rates your singing and presents a humorous picture, depending on your scores.
What's not: Considering all its other merits, its inability to record directly from TV to a DVD disc, using simply the DVD player, seems like an oversight.
Verdict: It matches and supersedes most other players, and the added karaoke feature makes this a steal at a little over Rs 4,000.
