Important documents belonging to the Ministry of Home Affairs were allegedly stolen by unknown culprits from the car of an Intelligence Bureau (IB) official. However, when contacted, Rajan P C, the official denied the claims. He said he had got an FIR registered after an umbrella was found missing. According to sources, Mandir Marg police station in New Delhi district is looking into the matter.

"Rajan had come travelling in his official car (number plate -DL2CQ5196. He parked his car outside the Gol Dak Khana and went inside for some work. He returned after ten minutes and found the car's windowpane broken. Rajan told the police that a black bag containing IB documents and some cash, about Rs 1,200, were missing from inside the car," said a senior police officer. The officer added that Rajan is a Gurgaon resident and his office is at North Block of Parliament.

"The whole incident occurred within ten minutes. We don't have any CCTV footage. We are taking the help of our local source to reach the culprit," the officer said. He however expressed his ignorance about the nature of the stolen documents. "Only Rajan can tell us about that. I know that his I-card was also stolen. We can't divulge more information as the matter is related to MHA and IB," he said.
