For abducted aide of Noida CEO

A personal aide of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Noida authority was kidnapped on Tuesday night.

Shankar Dutt, 27, was abducted while he was returning home. The kidnappers have demanded Rs 10 lakh as ransom.

Dutt lives in Moti Bagh and the police was clueless about from where the personal assistant of Noida CEO Moninder Singh was kidnapped.

Dutt's family received the first call at 7:30 pm from the abductors. They asked for the pin code for his ATM card. The family refused to part with it and called up the police instead.

However, later in the evening the kidnappers called up again and demanded Rs 10 lakh as ransom.

Noida SSP AK Singh told MiD DAY that after it was confirmed that Dutt has been kidnapped, the matter is being taken up at top priority. "We have deputed our best and hope to find Dutt soon," he said.

Since it was a high-profile matter concerning the top boss of the Noida authority, the Noida police deputed its Special Operations Group (SOG) along with three police station incharge and one circle officer to trace the missing.

A case has been registered in Kasna police station at Greater Noida. Singh is also the chief of Greater Noida authority.

Dutt has been working as the personal assistant of Singh for the last one and a half year.

Dutt's brother Shambhu did not return phone calls.

Senior police officials said vigilance has been enhanced across Noida and they are investigating from all angles, including personal enmity.
