Mumbai gangster Sadashiv Krishna Shetty met his end in the city early lastu00a0 morning. Local cops killed him in an encounter right below the flyover near Ghaisas Guruji Chowk. This was the second encounter in Chandni Chowk in two months.
According to sources, members of Shetty's gang had revealed that their leader would be visiting the area to assemble his team for another robbery. The cops then laid the trap, with the help of Police Inspector Sunil Pawar, API SAS Sayyad and other officers of Pune Crime unit.
The incident
Shetty had arrived at the spot with his accomplice on a black Pulsar. He allegedly did not heed police warnings and fired thrice atu00a0 Pawar. One bullet hit the police vehicle, passing through its windshield. Pawar and Sayad then fired four bullets. Three bullets hit him in the chest, while his accomplice fled on the bike.
Explaining the trap, DCP Anil Kumbhare said, "Officers were on a strict vigil for the last 48 hours." He added that Shetty had been rushed to Sassoon hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
