The final day of DES Law College's cultural fest Indradhanush was a colourful and entertaining affair as students hit upon the slightly predictable but nevertheless popular theme of Bollywood of the 70's for the fest's finale.
About 400 students turned up for the event. While the students represented a mix of Bollywood characters, Sholay clearly emerged as the winner as most turned up as characters from the movie. The most popular event was antakshiri and mono act competitions.
Swaraj Jadhav (22), final year student of law and student co-ordinator, said the theme was selected to pay tribute to the stars of the 70's. They had their own style, which we can still emulate, but today everything is more or less the same. We want people to create their distinct identity," he said.
Some students felt that the fest could have offered much more. "I feel that for a cultural fest a lot more creative events could have been thought of, rather than things like antakshiri, which I think is quite childish," said a participant.
