Hemant Jadhav spots a forlorn teen roaming near the actor's house; when she opens up to him about how she's left her home in Wardha due to her stepmom, he escorts her to Juhu cops
Actor Sunny Deol’s make-up man played the lead role yesterday in rescuing a damsel in distress, so to speak. At least, he resolved the runaway teenager’s dramatic escape from her home in Wardha by calling up her parents and taking her to the Juhu police who will see to her till they arrive.

Unhappy with her stepmother’s alleged harassment, Sneha (name changed) had run away from her house in the state’s eastern region on Thursday and come to the city. She was wandering near the actor’s bungalow last morning when Hemant Jadhav, the make-up artist, felt something was amiss with the solitary young girl with the desolate look.
Concerned, he asked her what she was up to, and after initial hesitation, she told him about the escape. Fearing that she might run into some trouble or fall prey to exploitation, he thoughtit best to usher her to the police station, and called up her parents.
A star-struck Sneha, a Std XI student, told the cops that to get away from the daily harassment of her stepmother, she had boarded a train to Mumbai. And since she had heard of film stars residing in Juhu, she made her way there.
Unhappy at home
Jadhav, a resident of Goregaon, said, “I was on my way to Deol’s house for work. And I noticed this girl roaming around. I directly asked her where she was from and what she was doing there. She was hesitant at first. I was with a friend, Vinayak Pedhamkar, and we both questioned her. She finally said she had left her house because she was being harassed by her mother.”u00a0Since Sneha was unwilling to go to the police station, Jadhav told her he’d give her a job in the film industry if she went to the cops with him.u00a0Upon reaching the station, she kicked up a fuss but nothing that the lady constables couldn’t handle. She calmed down completely in front of the inspector.
Jadhav said, “Every now and then we hear of minor girls falling prey to sexual crime in the city. I did not want anything like that to happen to her. Where would she have gone in the night? I am happy and relieved that she would, at least, be safe now.” u00a0Pedhamkar said, “She gave us her father’s number and we spoke with him. At least she is safe now. She’d be spending two days at the police station until her parents arrive.”
Sub-inspector Kiran Paghare of Juhu police station said, “We are yet to question the girl about her problems and about the sequence of events that brought her to Mumbai. We have informed her parents and they will be here in two days.” u00a0
