State had banned hiring after a recruitment scam was unearthed at the UoP in 2008
Five years after a scam hit the University of Pune’s (UoP) recruitment drive for hiring non-teaching staff, the varsity has now decided to fill the vacant posts.
Soon after the scam was unearthed in 2008, the state banned recruitment at all the state-public universities. Out of the total 1,235 non-teaching posts in class 1, class 2 and class 3 at the UoP, 385 posts are lying vacant.
