Active Covid cases rise marginally

India added 45,892 new Coronavirus cases and 817 deaths in a span of 24 hours, as per govt’s Thursday morning data

India recorded a single-day rise of 45,892 new Covid-19 cases, while the count of active cases increased slightly to 4,60,704 after being on a consistent downward trend for nearly 55 days, according to the Union Health Ministry on Thursday. On Wednesday, the government had recorded 4,59,920 active cases. The death toll climbed to 4,05,028 with 817 new fatalities being reported.

Meanwhile, the Union cabinet approved a Rs 23,123-crore financial package for improving health infrastructure in the country to fight the pandemic.
