Following efforts to set up a museum as tribute, and making him brand ambassador of tourism being deftly ducked by the cricketer, the state government is trying to interest him in an imposing felicitation function to mark his retirement from the game
The Democratic Front government finds itself on a sticky wicket in attending to one of the state’s favourite sons. Despite many letters and reminders, cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar never responded to the administration’s proposal of setting up a museum devoted to his contribution to the game.

Days after controversy erupted over naming the MCA clubhouse in Kandivli after Sachin Tendulkar, his name was finally put up on the swanky new building. The unveiling ceremony will be held on Monday, three days before the Master Blaster plays his 200th Test match at the Wankhede Stadium, the last of his illustrious 24-year career. Pic/Nimesh Dave
