India on Wednesday said China’s “arbitrary actions”, including the recent incident involving a woman traveller from Arunachal Pradesh detained at Shanghai Airport, undermine ongoing efforts to rebuild mutual trust and understanding between the two countries, news agency PTI reported.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) underlined that the “maintenance of peace and tranquillity” in border regions remains essential for the overall development of India–China relations.
