Assam Chief Minister Himanta Sarma to conduct inquiry into Zubeen Garg's death

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has ordered a probe into the death of singer Zubeen Garg, who died in a scuba diving accident in Singapore. FIRs have been filed against festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta and Garg’s manager Siddhartha Sharma, while authorities verify all details.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said the government would conduct an inquiry into singer Zubeen Garg's death. Zubeen Garg, also known as Ya Ali, passed away in a freak scuba diving accident in Singapore on Friday, September 19. The veteran singer was 52. Ashok Singhal, the Assam Cabinet Minister, confirmed the singer's death on social media on Friday afternoon, which shook everyone from the fraternity. 

After the suspicious death of singer Zubeen Garg, an FIR has been lodged against North East India Festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta and the singer's manager, Siddhartha Sharma, at Morigaon police station, reports PTI.
