IT will put city on the fashion map, promise organisers

Thirty designers. Sixty models. And 11 hours of fashion for four days. That's what Bangalore Fashion Week promises.

The event, to take place from July 23-26, promises to put Bangalore on the fashion map.

"We want to take off with a bang," said Siddharth Mahajan of Dream Merchants, the organisers, during the announcement of the fashion week at Hotel Ottera. Feroz Khan, creative director, Dream Merchants, was also present.

But is the city ready for its fashion week?

Choreographer Sheetal Sharma certainly thinks so.

"It will be four frenzied days of fashion fervour," she said. "Earlier, designers went from Bangalore to other cities to showcase their collections but now they will have a platform in the city to exhibit their talents."
