Bihar polls: Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj releases first list of 51 candidates

The Jan Suraaj party on Thursday released its first list of 51 candidates for Bihar Elections 2025 but did not confirm whether its founder Prashant Kishor will be contesting the polls news agency PTI reportedAddressing a press conference in Patna partyrsquos national president Udai Singh said Kishor is likely to hit the campaign trail on Saturday from Raghopur the constituency of Rashtriya Janata Dal RJD leader Tejashwi YadavWe will soon release a list of candidates for other seats If you find Kishor Jis name on the list then he will be contesting Its quite clear Kishor Ji will launch the partys election campaign from Raghopur on October 11 Singh saidAmong the prominent candidates named by the party are popular Bhojpuri singer Ritesh Ranjan Pandey who will contest from Kargahar Assembly seat and Pritti Kinnar from the thirdgender community who will look to win the Bhorey seat in Gopalganj PTI reportedBihar Elections 2025 Delhi HC directs ECI to allot symbol to Akhil Bharatiya Jan Sangh The Delhi High Court HC on Thursday directed the Election Commission of India ECI to allot a common symbol to Akhil Bharatiya Jan Sangh ABJS for Bihar Elections 2025 news agency ANI reportedABJS had sought allotment of a common symbol after the poll body rejected the partyrsquos representationJustice Mini Pushkarna directed ECI to allot a common symbol to the party The court also asked ABJS to file an application for the allotment reported ANI The directions came after the High Court received a response from ECIABJS had approached the court following the poll bodyrsquos September 1 order rejecting its representation citing internal disputes within the party ABJS was registered in 1989Earlier on August 25 the Delhi HC had asked ECI to decide on the representation expeditiouslyThe fresh petition challenged the poll bodyrsquos communication of September 1 stating that ECI did not consider ABJSrsquos application dated August 25 for allotment of a common election symbol for contesting the upcoming Bihar Assembly ElectionsThe petitioner had submitted a reply to the communication dated July 17 on August 25 and the lacunae pointed out by the poll body were remedied Along with the said letter the application for allotment of a common election symbol was resubmitted in terms of the format prescribed in para 10B of the Election Symbols Reservation and Allotment Order 1968 along with the requisite documentsThe party had approached ECI through letters written on June 2 and July 4 seeking allotment of a common election symbol in order to contest the upcoming elections in Bihar However no reply was forthcoming from the poll body ABJS had filed a petition in the HC which was disposed of on August 25With PTI and ANI inputs
