The BJP announced nine candidates, including Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, for the Legislative Council elections.

The list of candidates released by the Bharatiya Janata Party Central Office in New Delhi include the names of Keshav Prasad Maurya, Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh, Dayashankar Mishra Dayalu, JPS Rathore, Narendra Kashyap, Jaswant Saini, Danish Azad Ansari, Banwari Lal Dohre and Mukesh Sharma. Tenures of Deputy CM Maurya and Panchayati Raj Minister Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh as members of the Legislative Council end on July 6.
