We've always spoken about food first and ambience later. But when it comes to the Den Lounge Bar and Club, we're left with no choice but to break the rules, because it is the service that sets it apart from other such contemporary hangouts. The rest of the verdict follows.

Ambience
You may find alcohol, low seating and all that jazz at fine-diners, but this lounge has the 'it' factor that's sure to make you groove in glory. This Gurgaon joint has a large dance floor and comfortable lounge seating, making it young and happening at heart. The bartenders add to the entire experience. When here, ask for Seemon, who would tell you what's the right way to takeu00a0 shots of their signature B-52 and DC 10 tequilas. "If you don't toss down shooters the way it's meant to be, you wouldn't enjoy the taste," is the terse lesson we get. The music is not fresh from the charts, but has a peppy Punjabi flavour to it. So, you get to hear a lot of Kala Chashma, Glassi, Kajraare and Jugni, but love it, nevertheless.u00a0 Ladies Nites every Wednesday and Dhamaka Nites on weekends add to the fun. There is also a separate smoking zone.
Drinks
The 40-feet long bar stocks a wide variety of imported wine and beer, apart from other premium Indian and foreign liquors. Among the classics, the best bets would be God Father (Rs 250), Whisky Sour (Rs 225) and Blood Marry (Rs 225 yeah, we spelled it right). Under the Martinis section, Abbey Martini (Rs 250) and Cucumbertini (Rs 225) would give you the much-desired kick. These apart, there are international cocktails like Mint Julep (Rs 275) and Sex on E@rth (Rs 250). Shooters include Love To Hate (Rs 225) and Seduction (Rs 225).u00a0 If you don't find your favourite drink here, ask the bartenders to prepare it, and they gladly will. "By including personalised services, we want to make sure that we are not just an addition to the count," smiles Rahil Bindra, director of the eatery.
Food
It's strictly Italian. If you would like to keep it light and vegetarian, ask for a plate of Bruschetta alla Verdure V (Rs 175) and Fritti Funghi V (Rs 180). Meat eaters would relish the Piatti Di Antipasti NON-Vegetariano (Rs 425) and Bruschetta con Pollo (Rs 225). Among the healthier options, you have Non vegetarian Insalata Cessare V (Rs 250) and Vegetarian Insalata Stagione V (Rs 200) salads. An ideal main course here would be Vegetarian Spaghetti Aglio, Olio, Pepperoncino V (Rs 295), Vegetarian Linguini Alla Ristorante V (Rs 350), Non-vegetarian Spaghetti All Ragu (Rs 365) and Lasagne Alla Verdure (starts at Rs 325). Keep space for desserts, as you wouldn't like to miss the Cioccolata Lasagna (Rs 210) and Cioccolato Mousse (Rs 250).
