Chaos broke out at Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Sunday, as large number of passengers angered by delays in Air India flights raised slogans against the national carrier. Angry passengers even took over the microphone at the public announcement system room near Gate no. 24.
The problem started at around 8 pm when late night passengers started reaching the airport and got no information about their flights. Hundreds of passengers of Air India flying to Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Amritsar started shouting slogans against the airline in the Security Hold Area of the Terminal-3 around 9 pm.u00a0
Furious passengers overpowered officials there and started shouting anti airlines slogan on the microphone. The situation was brought under control after the Central Industrial Security Force personnel intervened.
"My flight was at 8:10 pm and when I reached the airport on time it was only after reaching the airport that I got the SMS informing me of the delay in schedule. It was informally told that there will be a delay and flight will take off at 9 but nothing happened. No official came forward to help. Finally at 11:15 pm after protest and slogan shouting we are being told about the flight getting cancelled," said Raghvendra Sharma who was to board the flight to Bangalore, AI-622.u00a0
