Daily Covid-19 infections rise marginally in India

Union health ministry on Monday morning added 11,451 new Covid cases, up from 10,853 recorded the day before

India registered a slight rise in its daily Covid-19 cases, according to the updated data of the Union health ministry. The ministry on Monday added 11,451 new Coronavirus infections in 24 hours, up from 10,853 registered the day before.

The active cases, however, declined to 1,42,826, and the number of fresh fatalities also dropped to 266, according to the data updated at 8 am. The active cases comprise 0.42 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.24 per cent, the ministry said.
